Request for Interpretation

Property owners, developers, and the City can initiate interpretations of the Land Development Code or Comprehensive Plan, seeking a formal intrepretation from the Community Development Director. These Interpretations may be legislative in that they apply to a large geographic area, such as all properties within a given zone, or they may be quasi-judicial, such as Interpretations that apply to a specific site or area. Through the processes identified in Chapter 2.16 of the Land Development Code, an applicant can obtain an official written Interpretation from the City.

Please note that the following list is intended to simply summarize the Requests for Interpretation that have been filed with the City, and represents applications that have been approved, denied or withdrawn. Some of the Requests for Interpretation, formerly approved, may have been subsequently repealed based on updates to the Land Development Code. Please consult with Planning Division staff if you have a question about application of these interpretations to your specific situation.
